 Traditions and customs in Argentina  


In terms of traditions and customs Argentina is characterized by its great cultural diversity, Argentina is famous in all the world  for its excellent wine and food,as well as music and dance. But those not are the only ones traditions that exist in Argentina, there are many traditions that are important to argentinians people and that are really interesting to Know more about the tradition and culture of this wonderful country. and we are going to tell you about some traditions of Argentina.

1. Mate

 Mate is  the national drinking of Argentina, Mate is a caffeinated drink which is  made  by  an infusion of dried leaves of yerba mate. It is  served in a  hollow calabash gourd which is called mate or guampa with a "Bombilla", a special metallic drinking straw. This drink is traditionally drunk  from mates even if the water comes in a thermo. In argentina. Mate is  part of the culture because Argentinian people are used to  drinking it with friends, relatives or people that make part of their live. It is not common in all the countries, but in Colombia we have a similar drink which is "agua panela" and we make something similar because Colombian people usually drink aguapanela when someone arrives to visit. The tradition is different because the place where this trandition take place in Colombia normally is the house but in Argentina,People is used to drinking mate and sharin time with people everywhere. 

2. Alfajores

Alfajores did not use to be part of argentina's culture because Alfajores are a traditional Andalusian sweet it means that Argentina is not the creator of alfajores, but they arrived in argentina at the time of colony to become a typical and traditional dish. Nowadays it is a typical and traditional sweet of Argentina. And it consists of two round cookies made with wheat flour and butter, it is like a kind of sandwich with caramel in the middle.Argentinians are used to preparing this special dish in important events like family meetings.

3. Argentine empanadas

Although empanadas of all kinds can be found throughout Latin America. Argentina's empanadas  are special and different of empanadas from other countries.It is prepared with a flour -based dough.  we can find a variety of flavors and ingredients that make argentine empanadas different, like for example minced meat,diced beef, chicken, ham and cheese, ham and onion, spinach and humita.There are some of the most common fillings that we can find in argentine empanadas and that make this dish a nice experience of Argentina's gastronomy.Argentinian people used to taking dinner a little bit late at night around 10 o'clock and one of the dishes that they like to eat at dinner are empanadas.


4. Football

Argentina is a country where people are used to liking soccer.That is the country of Maradona and messi two of the greatest soccer players in the history of this amazing sport not only in the country but also in the world and argentina is the home of this two soccer players. In argentina the passion of this sport extends to all the corners of the country. Buenos aires, the capital city of argentina is the city  with the most soccer stadiums in the world.Argentina's soccer teams are used to having a rivalry specially between "Boca" and "river plate". People in argentina  usually see and follow these two teams and that's why when the two teams play  a soccer match  people get used to calling it "superclasico". In argentina we can find an important city called "La Boca " where you can find La bombonera stadiums,Boca juniors Football club and some other things that show the importance and why soccer is part of Argentina's culture.Argentinian people are used to watching old soccer matches especially those where Argentina's soccer team won the world cup in that's a tradition where we can see that football is really important for them.  
 

5. Tango

 One of the main traditions of Argentina that is popular is "Tango" specially in the city of Buenos Aires. It is a dance and music genre that has gained fame around the world  for its attractive movements. Tango is not used to being a traditional dance in Argentina until the mid of twentieth-century when the multiculturalism generated by migration from Europe made this unique and different dance.Some restaurants in Argentina are used to doing tango exhibitions as a  show to tourists or people in general.

Argentina have more than 700 book stores located in Buenos Aires.There is a book store for every 3600 inhabitants.In Argentina you will find many book stores and second hand stores where you can spend hours searching for a perfect book for you.

Also an interesting fact is that Buenos aires metro system is the oldest in Latin America .In 1913 the first metro system On Latin America started to operate in Buenos Aires. 3. People in argentina is used to having a cat or a dog. In argentina people love cats or dogs. Almost 60% of the households are accompanied by a dog or a cat and probably you can see professional dog walkers walking a lot of dogs in some cases you can find some dog walkers walking 10 dogs.

Argentina get used to being  a country of giant dinosaur discoveries.Argentina is a country where you can find treasures like dinosaur fossils, with some of the largest and mos complete specimens ever found.In patagonia some archaeologists have made great discoveries including the massive argentinosaurus.

5.Argentina is used to being recognized by his known diverse wildlife. It is considered one of the most biodiverse places in the world. The nations covers 15 continental zones.It has an Antartic region, and also includes two marine regions.In those places people can find animals like whales, penguins,sea lions and more.

Proud of their Culture: Argentinians are seen as proud of their rich cultural heritage, including literature, music, and art, with figures like Jorge Luis Borges and Astor Piazzolla being internationally renowned.

Passionate and Expressive: There's a stereotype that Argentinians are passionate and expressive in their speech and gestures, reflecting a vibrant and lively personality.
